Local and Wide Area Network Connectivity to Access Control Software Available through DigiPort™

Asheville, NC: Digitech International, Inc., known as the industry’s innovator in access

control and security systems for self-storage, has introduced a simple, reliable and cost

effective solution for store operators interested in having network access to their

DigiGate-700™ for Windows® access control software. DigiPort™, provides a data

communication interface, allowing Digitech’s access control software to communicate

with the system controller over a TCP/IP-based Ethernet network.

“For an individual store utilizing a Local Area Network, it can be as simple as assigning

the DigiPort™ a static IP address,” states Jon Loftin, Digitech’s Vice President of

Engineering. “This connectivity allows authorized network users

to access updated activity reports, as well as respond to any tenant issues, without having

to directly access the primary office PC.”

DigiPort™ creates additional management utility for self-storage operators that develop

non-managed, remote store locations. DigiPort™ can be easily inserted between the

system controller and the broadband connection at multiple remote sites. Once connected

and assigned a static IP address, each site can be monitored and controlled via the

internet.

“DigiPort™ now offers innovative operators similar remote management

capabilities in access control that have been available in video surveillance through our

DigiView Digital Video Recorder™,” says John Locke, Digitech’s Director of Sales and

Marketing. “With broadband becoming more available, our customers want the

ability to have real-time access to and communication with their remote sites.

Customers with a savvy IT consultant, the DigiPort™, a single broadband connection

and a router can virtually have their entire remote site at their fingertips,” Locke

concluded.

Digitech International, Inc. has provided security solutions for the self-storage industry

for over 20 years and now markets its products throughout North America, Europe and

Australia.  The company produces access control  software and equipment, gate and door

controls, video surveillance systems, site graphics  displays, intercoms, automatic

announcement PA systems and perimeter protection.
